Lab Test - Helium Porosity Measuremenent
The Rock Fluid imaging laboratory provide Helium porosity test. Helium Porosity Testing can be applied for petroleum reservoir characterization (porosity, storage capacity), geothermal reservoir evaluation, unconventional resource studies (e.g., shale gas, tight sands), carbon capture and storage (CCS) overburden analysis, geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations.
| Laboratory-based helium permeability measurements on core samples provide high-accuracy data that can be used to calibrate and correct porosity values obtained from well log-based petrophysical analysis, ensuring more reliable reservoir characterization. |
 |
 |
Benefit:
- High Accuracy: Helium accesses tiny pores, offering a precise grain volume measurement.
- Non-destructive: Does not alter or damage the rock sample.
- Rapid Measurements: Ideal for routine core analysis.
- Minimal Adsorption: Unlike other gases, helium doesn’t adsorb onto mineral surfaces.
- Reliable in Low-Porosity Rocks: Especially effective in tight formations like shale or volcanic rocks.

The embedded software has been specifically written to enable automatic operation and acquire data from porosity-meter compatible computers.
