COAL-BED METHANE CHARACTERIZATION

In recent years, Coal-Bed Methane (CBM) has emerged as one of the important energy resources. The seismic wave parameters play a crucial role in characterizing the reservoir properties of CBM. Consequently, seismic rock physics provides insights into how to characterize CBM reservoirs utilizing seismic wave parameters.  With this understanding, we can ascertain the Amplitude Various Offset (AVO) response of CBM reservoirs in various porosity, fracture, fluid content and pressure. Measuring pore pressure is essential for distinguishing between overpressure and underpressure zones, as an effective CBM reservoir typically exhibits high pore pressure.
